d650 swap(injection)

i have read the post about the d650 swap into the tt/4. i understand that the wiring is the biggest head ache.

could a person just leave the 600 injection on it and have it remaped?

don't know. the goal on my swap was to get the most power out of the bike as possible on a budget. the 650 throttle body setup is different even from the Daytona 600 and it made the most sense to use the best of all the parts available. if the 650 motor were going into a TT600, i think the wiring harness would fit better as you'd have a place to put all that wiring up front.

Not sure about the D650, but I just swapped a D600 into a TT600, and overall besides getting the bolt holes to line up, wiring is going to be your only thing to worry about. Possibly the return style fuel injection, but nothing you can't figure out after a couple beers.

You'll want to check out the bore/stroke of the 600 vs the 650. Most likely they have different style pistons with different cutouts for valves and different clearances, so you'll want to check for interference first. Then you'd have to do a custom tune on the ECU, and overall sounds like it would be way too much work just to avoid running a couple wires, plus losing power.

I'll let you know how it goes with the d600 wiring in a TT tomorrow. I'm not gonna use any fairings, mostly because i like the way it looks but also because I'm just that cheap, so I'm gonna try to hide the wires as best as possible.

Yep, nevermind. Wiring is a pain. I got the motor out of the oldbike and into the new one in three hours. It's been two days and I'm still trying to figure what to do with the wiring
