Problems with going naked?

Hey, just wondering if anyone has had or heard of any problems with taking the fairings off a bike that normally has fairings. I'm just wondering/worried about small rocks or pebbles or anything that might damage something important.

I'm taking this plunge myself... So a little feedback would be sweet!

I shouldn't think you'd have a problem...s4's seem to cope ok!

i think you guys have the coolant resevoir near the front of the side of your bikes rather than under the seat- i don't know how exposed that is. that would take a big chunk of debris to damage that anyway....

i think the biggest headache will be sorting things like the excess wiring from the headlight etc etc...all the little things that aren't apparent straight away. (i had fun converting a d900 to a speed3)

I'm actually doing the same thing here and since I'm painting the bike black again I'm just going to cover bunch the wires up front together and wrap them in electrical tape for now. Hopefully it doesn't look too shotty and can hold until I convert to the S4 front. An S4 conversion for the coolant reservoir would be nice too but for now that'll be rattle-canned. I can't imagine what harm going naked would be but I think I might grab some frame sliders just for some insurance.

Talking

besides the odd stares and chapped nipples, going naked is fine!

just out of interest is there any running problems without the rocket launchers? immediate or longterm?

i've seen a few mods/conversion where they've been left off...just curious?

I can't imagine any problems caused by not having them
