When will Triumph return to Superbike AMA racing in the US?
I was watching the AMA Superbike series at Barber racecourse today on TV and noticed the lack of Triumph. Where in Triumph in the North American circuit?
A few FX Triumphs this year, and if DMG gets their way with the rules next year a version of what we know as FX will be the "premier" class known as "Daytona Superbikes" Not exactly holding my breath on them getting the manufacturers to buy into their proposal as it is written however.

Sorry, but what's the FX class? I'm just starting in my interest in North American motorcycle racing, and am only familiar with the AMA Superbike series.
Formula eXtreme. It is for 600 class bikes, including 675 triples and 848 Ducatis. There are also some bigger BMW twins and Buell twins, but I don't know what their displacement is. It could be a lot of fun if every eligible bike ran in it.

It's a squid thing. You wouldn't understand.
IIRC, 3 Triumphs qualified #16, #17, & #18 at last weeks Barber Motorsports race. Mark Cozier finished 15th in the race. I have pictures of them, but I can't post them due to dealings with a magazine.
Other Daytona news comes from the racing front, as the Triple is now competing in the World Supersport series, making an appearance at the upcoming SBK event at Miller Motorsports Park. The 675 is also competing in the AMA Formula Xtreme class with Robbie McLendon and Mark Crozier at the helm. And, depending on how the upcoming off-season shakes out, the Triple may turn laps in the nebulous and still undefined 2009 Daytona Superbikes series. One thing we do know is Triumph sure has the right bike name for the proposed premier U.S. road racing class.
