TT 600 Air Sensor

While doing maintenance on my bike I noticed that there is no air temperature sensor connected to the air box. I have tried to find info on this sensor, but haven't had any luck. All I have found is an electrical cable that isn't connected to anything. Are some bikes shipped without these sensors, something like an "optional" part?

Any suggestions?

Is the connector you found gray? If so, it is part of California emissions equipment and doesn't do anything in the rest of the world.

does it do anything when you connect it? or is it just to pass the test and it virtually does nothing?

They wont be able to connect the cable if bike has swapped motors, or even swapped ecu and wiring equipment. My 01 did have a connector to the airbox, but the 00 engine i got out of CA did not have connector. Bike runs fine without, doesnt have 'check engine light' even though ECU was originally set to run Triumph's emission controlled map.

NSTriumph, do you have a bare green connector on your airbox?

Yea its a grey connector. OK Emmissions control..thats what the connector was for.

As for the air temperature sensor on the bottom of the airbox,,,, there's nothing there. Should it be there?

ok, what does it add to the motorcycle? will it run more efficiently? (will it give me more mpg?) or is it only for the emission, and how can i see if a sensor can be fitted (and how much does a sensor cost )

Yes there should be a connector at the bottom of the air box, of to the mid left maybe?

Im not quite sure what the emissions control does, but the vacuum system connects to the throttle body system, then the exhaust manifold, and back to the airbox. Im not sure if the system itself gives more MPG, but the tune sure does. And no, you cannot equip a non-emission controled engine with the system without doing a head swap. The vacuum line units are mounted to the block on the engine head just above the exhaust manifold.

Anyone else have an actual answer for that last one?
