Kissed The Ashpalt

Always hoped it wouldn't happen, and to tell you the truth I don't have any idea how it did. I just recently put a BT-010 on the front and got a right fork seal fixed, had about 200 miles on the front and about a half inch chicken strip that had never seen asphalt (that was until yesterday). I had taken similar corners at higher speeds and steeper lean angles (on the old tire and blown fork seal) than yesterday but for some reason it just didn't stick.

Was doing around 40 when my body contacted the road, was sliding on my right side and went to roll onto my back when my backpack caught and flipped me (forgot backpack was on), rolled a couple more times from what I can remember and then it was all over. Made it out ok, just some road rash on the knee and leg, sore neck and muscles, and a bruised ego. The bike is sort of ok also, ground down the CRG mirror on the right side till it fell off and broke the footpeg mount, other than that just minor scratches to pipe and engine cover. To add insult to injury, my riding buddy was right behind me in his truck and saw the whole thing unfold, he doesn't know how it happened either.

I totally lost confidence in the bike and myself, it'll probably take awhile to get it back, I really thought it could handle a corner like that, oh well. Keep the rubber side down and keep riding.

Peace.

Unhappy Sorry to hear that

Couple of questions though.

1.Did you change both tires @ the same time and how old was the BT10.

2. Go buy sportbike riding techniques by Nick Iteschai I think is how you spell his name.

3.Read and practice and in about a week or two you will start back in the groove or better IMHO.

4.Consider replacing both tires though before doing the above if they are BT

Hope this helps and doesn't offend but I went throught the same thing a couple of years ago and it worked for me the other thing is I am not a big fan of Battle axes compared to pirellis or metzlers or some other brand that I think hold better but this due to every accident I have had has been on Bridgestones and thank god there have only been 2 but after the second the Battle Axes were gone.
