Rotten egg smell is sulphur. The fuel fittings have nothing to do with it. Did you get some bad fuel? That's all I can think of.

+1 on the bad fuel. Try gas from a different store and see what happens, or should it be smell?

good luck

Usually that smell is caused by an overheated catalytic converter, which can be caused by few things. Using leaded fuel. Overly rich air/fuel mixture. Plugged exhaust.

Now the question is, does your bike have one? If its a 50 state (US) version then it probably does. (its incorporated in the can)

Um, no, I don't think it does. That's why I suspect bad fuel.

I have a 50 state S4 and just had the can replaced because it had a rattle in it, which my dealer diagnosed as the cat rattling around inside. Also, if you look on BikeBandit it has 2 different OEM cans available a "CAT EQUIPPED US CAL & DE ONLY" version, and the other non Cat version.

anyone know if the non-CAT version sounds better? or louder rather, since the bike still sounds awesome
