Question Brake Pedal

Does anyone else have trouble using the rear brake or is it just me?

I find the pedal is really high compared to the peg and to use it I have to lift my whole foot up off the peg first... makes it a bit arkward.

Wondering if any of you guys have fixed this or have a differnet solution. Was thinking of getting a pedal from the breakers and bending/modifying it... or spend lots of cash on nice adjustable rearset.

Any suggestions/recommendations are appreciated

Cheers folks

the pedal is adjustable at the rear master cylinder. sounds like you need to adjust it so that the pedal sits at lower end - just realize that you need to keep some travel in the pedal, or the rear will be essentially useless.

With the stock pegs I had the lever adjusted all the way down at max travel & it was perfect. With the Buell peg mod the lever is in the same place but is now slightly high, although it's acceptable.

Uh... you USE the rear brake?

(Side note: When I bought my TT, the rear brake pad was worn down but the fronts were fine. Both were the original pads. Makes ya wonder.)

My brake pedal was always too high and I was fine with it (30,000 miles before I swapped the rear pads), so I decided to just low side it and the pedal is right where it should be now Not that I recommend this method to anyone else...

i would buy spare lever off fleabay and take it to a competent aluminum welder and have it lowered. should be much cheaper than aftermarket rears.

Nice to know that low side had its uses

I'm trying to find a breaker that has a pedal, not heard back from any yet, and part for TTs seem a bit sparse on fleabay

I had the same problem - I think it's a height thing. Longer legs means your feet are naturally going to be rotated down more than usual. I ended up getting LSL rearsets, which are adjustable for the rear brake, and freinds have said it's too far down for them.

Maybe I'm just a freak, though.

The rear brake is for making flat spots in the rear tire!

I bought my race bike from a guy who is shorter than me and has quite a bit shorter legs, but he had the levers rotated way down from where I like them. It is just a personal preference and personal geometry issue, not a matter of how tall you are. One of the reasons I bought the bike I did was because its previous owner is the exact same weight as me, even though he is a few inches shorter.
