Name that Part [Pic]

hey guys, i was washing my bike the other day and found suspicious looking wire. i pulled on it lightly to see what was up and the shielding came right off. looks like i've been riding like this for a while. i've been looking through the maintenance manual and can't seem to figure out what the part is. if anybody knows, clue me in? and what does it go to/how does it work? i need to know if i should call my local dealer and get one on order asap. thanks!.

That's your oil pressure sensor. Best keep it attached.

That is the cable for the Oil pressure switch - you should have a check engine light with that disconnected.

Oops - Will beat me to it while I was responding to a PM.

ok thanks guys. so since just having the boot holding it on doesn't surprise me with a check engine light, i think i'll be fine riding around until my dealer gets a new one in. thanks a bunch!
