Smile TT600 Suspension Settings

Hi, 1st post here, I have just purchased a 2001 TT600 and I have found the post Ref: Suspension settings, there seems to be a few options on this ie:

(TT600 ('00) 10/00 4 lines showing 4 clicks out 3 clicks out 29mm thread showing 6 clicks out 2 clicks out
note: with Michelin Pilot Race tires
TT600 ('01) 6/02 3 lines showing 3 clicks out 5 clicks out 35mm thread showing 3 clicks out 7 clicks out ), have also found other.

Has anyone tried and tested the setting if so which settings are best to go with, (Road use only). I am also new to sports bikes having come from a bandit 600, must say TT seams a whole lot better so far.

I had a Bandit 600 before my first TT600 about six years ago. Like you say, it is quite a difference!

First, you have to set the sag. You will need a friend or two to help, and you measure the distance the bike settles when you sit on it. Pick a point, front and rear and measure with the bike unloaded and then with you sitting on it. It should be upright. I don't rembmer the exact number, but it isn't much, something like 5 mm. Then set the compression and rebound according to the stickied information above. I tend to like a pretty taut setup, so what I think is great might not be your idea of a good time. You will have to adjust a bit at a time to figure out what is exactly right for your style and your use. Once you have a baseline, keep track of the changes you make in a notebook or some other place you can keep good records. That way you will know how the changes you make affect the bike, and if you don't like them, you can go back to how it was.

Don't be afraid to just ride it a while and see how it is. For the street, if it hasn't been adjusted much since it came from the factory, it may be perfect already.
