Has anyone removed the TT stickers from the fairings? I tried to take one off today and is was a disaster. I used a hairdryer to heat it up then I started peeling it off. The only problem is that the paint started peeling off with the sticker!!! Does anyone know how to take these things off without ruining my paint? I don't want to have to repaint my fairing after I take it off. Is there some sort of chemical that will loosen the sticker up so that it will wipe away?

Thanks

It sounds like you had too much heat. Be patient with it, work slowly, and use a hair dryier, not a heat gun. WD 40 removed the residue from my bike. If you use any kind of abrasive to get the residue off, it will dull your finish, but a good wax job polishes it right back up. The bike will look great without those goofy stickers! Mine has been stickerless for three years now.

I would not use heat on painted plastic. There are chemical sticker removers out there that should do the job.

Start on one edge.
use alot
plan a hour for each sticker.
as it starts to peel up add more of the sticker remover.
gently tug allowing the remover to seep under the edge of the sticker.

TAKE YOUR TIME!

Using heat is safer on metal painted surfaces i think.
