Unhappy They tried stealing my TT600 again!!

Here's what happened the first time around:

http://www.triumphrat.net/triumph-su...h-damaged.html

Fast forward six months...

Same ploy, screwdriver in the ignition and tried to turn it out of "lock". It never works but here I am with a damaged ignition switch AGAIN.

I searched ebay. Anybody know where else I can get this part beside the $150 US for an OEM?

What other 2000's triumph had the same ignition switch? Probably the daytona and sprint?

The switch looks like the same as my 05 Daytona. If the switch still works, a good locksmith could recore the lock. Just a thought..

no doubt the switch is still good. Calling a mobile locksmith now since rolling up in a hotwired bike might seem a little suspicious.

That stinks! Nobody has the right to my stuff, unless it's a 9mm slug.

Happened to me recently as well; here's my thread about it.

http://www.triumphrat.net/triumph-su...-cylinder.html

I ended up with an aprilia switch...its the same switch, but the switch screw holes don't quite line up properly.

Curious; what other 'defense' do you have for yours? Mine is at my grandfathers for the winter, but now it has an alarmed disc lock on the front, and the rear is chained to a post with a huge honking chain when out in the wild now; my hope being that people won't mess with it, because they will have to put some major effort into getting it free otherwise.

At first I had two lines of defense. A small container lock from WalMart through a hole in the disc brake. And a master lock "python" cable lock. I got lazy and it looked like easy pickin's for the thieves.

Score found an aprilia set for $40 US. None of you buggers try and outbid me now.

actually, all is fair on ebay if anyone else wants it more than me then they ought to have it.
