Race Tech Eh?
It's almost winter here in Illinois, trust me I've been riding the past few mornings.

I might know an interested party for those internals.... good winter project.

Yesterday I finished the final wet sanding of the primered bodywork; they are ready for paint. My plan is to print out the decal templates at the bodyshop some time this week, and this coming Saturday I will paint all the pieces.

I disassembled, cleaned, greased, and reassembled the clutch, throttle, and front and rear brake lever assemblies. I then flushed both front and rear brake systems and replaced the fluid. The engine should be getting to me some time this week.

Tonight I built the new speedometer mounting bracket. After some back and forth thought processes, I have decided to not run headlights or a front fender. The headlights and fender catch a lot of wind, so that won't do. I fabricated a mounting plate that uses the clipon-to-triple mounting holes. The speedo sits above the triple clamp now, which gets it out of the wind.

Looks sharp, but did you check the gauge clearance to the tank? I am guessing you'll hit the front bulge on the tank with the bottom radius on the tach when you turn the bars.

You know, I thought I forgot something... I'm just joking. Yes, I did check for tank clearance, and the speedo is forward and high enough to clear the tank. You can't really see that from the pictures though.

That Speedo placement is looking fantastic Bomb. I like the way it simplifies the whole jumble look of the cluster. my guess is your a wizz in a machine shop, or mechanics garage. Next time my bike starts spitting funk at me, i may just ride her up to SF and buy you some beer

That's really nice looking. I'll be looking forward to your impression of it while riding.

Yeah, it looks great. I didn't want to suggest that you hadn't checked those things, but from the picture it didn't look like the depth was there.

I'd be interested too in hearing how she performs.

Thanks a lot. I didn't realize the new speedo placement would be interesting to people. I'll be sure to let you know what I think once I get it running. Hopefully everything will begin to fall into place once I get all the parts.

I just received the parts I needed for the exhaust, so I'll be welding that up this weekend. I've also finalized Saturday as the painting day. I went into the bodyshop this morning at 4am and spent about 2 hours on the decal/template making program/machine; I designed the 'Triumph' fuel tank decals from scratch. Waking up early beats paying the outrageous price for the decals!
