i cant remember for sure but there was a thread about this procedure, iirc it takes a lot of grease and swearing to get on properly. Do a search, i know theres a thread with pics and all

I didn't remove the wheel when I did mine. Put plenty of of grease around the axle end then tapped in place using a hammer and short length of wood. Use plastic or wood as a drift, metal will damage the strip. It takes a while and is a bit of a fiddle but take your time, swear a lot and it will eventually pop into place.

I second the hammer and wood method. Worked for me.

I've got a great step-by-step from another member (pa95sprint), complete with photos of the process. No easy way to post it here though. If you PM me your email address, I'll forward it.

thanks for the responses guys. I was just out on the bike with the new road attacks and no fairings lol. Even though I only put 10 miles on them they feel pretty good! 1 mile of it was going around and around and around a rotary haha anyhow as for the chain strip...

I cut the old one off when I couldnt pull it out (should have been a sign of bad things to come)

Tried everything I could to even tried prying the new one in but it woulnt fit between the swingarm and the frame (bottom part of the rub strip) I headed it up with a propane torch to make it more pliable, was able to bend the corner in and under then my 250lb friend stood with all his weight on the rear end and it slid right into place.

The trick is to load up the rear end which will bring the swingarm up enough to give more clearance. we worked on it literally for 45 minutes before figuring that out...
