2001 TT600 issues

My 01 tt600 occationally dies when the ride gets some g-forces (hard acceleration, bumps, etc) and I have narrowed it down to the wires coming from the ignition but how do I know which wire is causing the problem and how to fix it? Also I just passed 8k, should i get a valve adjustment?

Just a guess, but you'll probably need the bike running and literally wiggle each wire until something happens.

Electrical problems are time consuming to find. Just take your time and you'll hopfully find it.

you could get and ohmmeter(i think thats what its called) and test each connection... black to a known ground and test every wire... and too fix might just need to be re-soldered

Honestly, you think it is electrical? I have the same problem with my 01 and it usually happens when stopping very quickly, while not downshifting. I just bought it in May of this year, so, this is all new to me. Plus with my job, I'm only home a couple days every two weeks.

Still in the thousand miles and change I've put on, I have had it die mostly from very quick stops, and occassionly when sitting at a light and the fan kicks on.

Cheers. Let us know if you find a wire that fixes the problem. I think however, it has more to do with the fuel.

*edit* Sorry, I read the first post wrong. Yeah, that does sound like a wire. BTW the valve adjustment was done to mine just before I bought it @ 12k.

I think mine wants to die too when the fan kicks on.... it helps me to watch temps and when the fan goes to kick on at 102C I turn off my brights and ensure that none of my signals are on.. that helps alot... also if I notice it too late ill force fan to turn on faster by running the throttle at 1500 rpm that extra rpm is enough to get by... only happens when the fan turns on the first time per ride

Sure. The fan usually only kills the bike on me when I'm at idle. I agree that if a guy keeps even some slight Rs then it won't kill. My fan kicks on around 213F which from my limited reading on this forum seems to be about normal, maybe even a little lower than some.

Thanks to everyboby for all their help and insight. This is my first bike and I am not the most mechanically inclined. So every bit of information I scrounge is very helpful. I just have to figure out how to search better.
