balanced wheels vs headstock bearing vs bad california roads

"If it's the front wheel, you'll experience shudder in your mirrors and handlebars, mostly felt anywhere above 60mph. You steering head may be slightly damaged, and your tire will wear unevenly...." (airrider3)

well,

anything high speed above 60 is nice and smooth and I dont notice any bounce or anything until I use the engine to decel could I just need to inspect and tighten my headstock bearing???? how easy is this to do and what tools will I need im assuming a front stand... or could it just be crappy southern california roads

and if thats the case how could I adjust my suspension to minimize this bounce.. right now im at stock settings

I gotta say, you are confusing me completely. If you get some shake on deceleration, including when you are braking, then check the headstock bearings. If you get a shudder under braking, then check the brake pads or the brake disks. If you get a shudder at certain speeds, then check wheel balance or roundness.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

I slide under the front end of the bike and look up and there is a bit of grease surrounding the lower end of the bottom triple tree(where the triple tree connects to the frame)... I assume this is part of the headstock bearing and probably should not be leaking any oil/grease/lube..... maybe i have a damaged headstock bearing...

I think i will just take it to the stealer.... thanks for all the help though.. maybe the BMW shop down the block will work on it?? the Triumph dealer is farther away.

in the service manual they have a 3 yr/ 18000 mile service but in the mom there is no mention just 16000 then i assume a 20000.

does this 18000 acually exist and anyone know how much it will run??
