Speedo problem

I've noticed some others on the site having speedo problems as well. I've got a 01 TT600 with around 8k miles on it. I hadn't ridden for about a week until today. For some reason the speedometer is not working at all or reading 1 mph at the most. Everything else works, and there doesn't seem to be any electrical issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm assuming something has happened to the sensor.

Regards,

Yep, the sensor magnet at the front wheel is probably toasted. It is a very common problem.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

I woluld pull the wheel off and take a look at the sensor. I just got mine back and the mechanic said the notches didn't match up corectly. He bent the tabs a little and now everything is working. From what I hear from this site is that the speedo sensor is a poor design and prone to failure though. Good luck.
