its finally home!

so i dont know if you guys remember my 650 getting stolen last dec, but i got a call from seattle pd sunday saying they found my bike and to come get it! fearing the worst i took a trailer to put the pieces on, but it was actually in one piece and was able to ride it home! of course they broke all the locks on it, hotwired it, repainted it with a paint brush and house paint( looks so good), took all the air ducting out of it, and took my undertail, but that's it. no real signs of thrashing, wasnt down.... they even put a new battery on it and changed the oil! needless to say i was quite happy with it. it is definately a project bike now, but at least its home and not gonna be too much. if anyone is interested in seeing some of the pics now, here is a link to my page: http://picasaweb.google.com/gerinipus/StolenBikeIsHome

First off, congrats on the recovery.....I think Now is the scum who stole your 650 and then PAINTED IT BLUE!!!!! in some holding tank waiting for trial? I hope so. What kind of insurance did you have for it? Too bad about the Union Jack nose cone. Those things are like $400 + dollars, not to mention the gas cap, ignition, air ducts, arg.......

I say.........pull everything off and paint it black. I'm in the process of turning mine black. I figure in about another 2 years the whole thing will be black.

blue really isnt that bad of a color... hows that work with insurance? Did the insurance company write the bike off and then you have the option to buy it back when its found or?

honestly with the insurance i am still waiting for them to get back to me. more than likely they will take it back, but i did ask if i could buy it from them for wholesale or something. black is the idea if i get to keep it; i want all matte black, though. no gloss, no chrome.

It sure would make an excellent track bike.

Thumbs up

Daytona 650: motorcycle. A bike barely alive. We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better than it was. Better...stronger...faster...
