Ok, it was a hot day yesterday, but should the TT600 be running at 212 degrees (for a few moments), and between 198 and 206 running around town? It just seems very hot.

And the bike will occasionally cut out if I decelerate to a stop quickly, unless I blip the throttle. A common problem that I should live with, or a sign of bigger issues?

Thanks.

Doesn't water boil at 212 farenheit? I've forgotten my high school physics - wouldn't 222 be steam?

i have no clue haha. i hate this kind of stuff.

all i know is temp is usually between 190-220 when driving in the summer heat. fan comes on at 222, temp gets as high as 226. my temp hit 260 once when i was low on coolant (my fault)

Thats why you use a mixture of coolant and water. The coolant (Ethylene Glycol) raises the boiling point of the water so it doesn't boil over. The pressure in the system counter acts boiling as well.

These bike run hot, as Fury mentioned, the fans dont even come on till 222F. I've had mine up to 238F in traffic and although thats pretty ***** hot, it not a problem. The high temp light comes on at 248 I believe.

It is a pressurized system. Water under pressure can get much hotter without boiling. Coolant raises the boiling point as well. Pressure is why racing bikes can run distilled water with no coolant.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Exactly Will..

Ever open the cap on a hot system... It doesn't explode in a rage until you release the pressure keeping it under control.

Ahhhh. A combination of coolant and pressure...

So if my bike's temperature is around 204, it's running cool for a Triumph?

As far as the stalling goes, I'm going to try a combination of premium gas (93?) and a good dose of injector cleaner. From other posts on the same topic, that seems to be a good cure.

Thanks for the help.

My TT600 started stalling too. Starting is fine and the fuel map is ok when warming up (idling higher). But when it switches to the "operating temp" map (around 64 C) I blip the throttle and it dips way below 1kRPM and stalls out.

They pump 100 octane down from my house. I'll try running a gallon of that and see if things clear up.
