On my way to work on thursday I was comming up to a stop light and pulled in the clutch. When I did that the chain snaped and cracked the engine case. Lost all my oil and had to push it. Lucky thing was that I was less than a block from bike shop. Now I havn't actually had time to look at it in person yet since I just havn't had time to pick it up but what all do you think my options are just going by this?

Insurance company probably wouldn't cover that, would they? assuming they know that the cracked casing was due to the chain...

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
will it be repairable with metal filler, if its not on a stress point I would try araldite weld compound or US equivalent.

JB Weld if it is not stressed, welding if it is stressed. It shouldn't be too big a deal.

Alright well thats some good new atleast was hopeing I could just get it welded. Altho still not sure how big the crack is or where exectly it is on the case. The shop isn't open on sunday and monday so can't pick it up till tuesday. But I will get some picks for you. Atleast it gives me a good reason to change the sprockets out too.

Well got it back today and its kind of bad but not as bad as I was expecting and looks like JB weld should work fine. The front sprocket was a tad loose not sure if that was before or after the chain broke. What happend when it broke was the chain took out all of the metal chain guard around the sprocket and took out a small hole in the motor.

What is that plate behind the hole?
