Hi all,
I have an issue with my tt. If I ride for more than about an hour, my knees really hurt. I had an FZR600 before and I didnt experience this.
I'm 5'8" and about 170...so this bike shouldnt be too small for me.......I have noticed that my knees bug me more when I wear my leathers (tighter?)......
Is there anything I can do?....will rear sets help me?....it seems like my knees are bent at a tough angle...I dont have any physical abnormalities....
Any thoughts?...anyone share my pain?

Yea I get this on my S4, its worse with leather also due to the armour.
I know a few people on here have put Buell footpegs on, which sit about an inch lower which really helps.
As for rear-sets I dont know.

Disclaimer: I'm 6'3", so YMMV.
I got LSL rearsets after a crash last year. They move the pegs 1" up and 1" back. The stock position was more comfortable for me, but the new one is better for aggressive riding. Bear in mind that rearsets will run you $350USD or so, depending on which you go for.
The Buell footpegs are cheap - definitely the first thing to try. I don't remember the specfic model they're off of though - maybe do some searching.

the guy I bought the bike from and my dad both had sore knees when riding it (my dad can't even go a block).
What are "rear sets" anyway? I hear the term, I thought it was referring to the passengers pegs

rearsets are the rider's pegs/brackets on a sport motorcycle. Usually when people talk about them they're referring to aftermarket rearsets, which replace the rider pegs, brackets, and shifter and rear brake. They usually move the pegs back and up, for more cornering clearance.
I've read a couple of reviews that commented on the TT600/S4 pegs being a little too far forward for how high they are. I can't comment critically because I've never spent a significant amount of time on another bike less than 20 years old. I found the stock location to be a bit cramped, personally.
I guess what you need to decide is how the peg/seat/hand control relationship needs to change for you to be happy, and go from there. While you're riding, think about where the pegs would be if they were perfect. If it's down, Buell pegs will do you just fine. Back/Up, rearsets (and money). Of course you can also always come up with your own solution (maybe forward controls  )

The pegs on a TT600 are very, very high. You have to be going very fast or be a complete idiot to touch them down.
No comment about touching down the sidestand and exhaust can. :-D

I'm planning to make brackets that will move my LSL rearsets down about 1/2" or so. Looking at the bike, that's gonna be a tight squeeze with the exhaust. I don't know if that'll be the case with the stock ones, but it's something to bear in mind.

If anyone had more information on which Buell footpegs could be fit to our bikes, I would appreciate it as well (6'1", 190 here). My knees, ect also get very sore on long rides, but I just put it off to being dumb enough to try and ride 100 miles on a sport-y bike at a time.
