Would lowering mt TT600 have any adverse affects when going to the race track. I had my bike suspension tuned at the track and I love the way it handles now but the rear does not squat any more so I'm on my tip-toes when trying to back the bike out of a parking spot. I am only talking about 1" to 1 1/2", so what do you think ? If its okay what is the best way to do it ? Robert. :hammer:

my understanding is it has very bad effects on a bikes geometry and handling on a track. Might not be so noticeable on the street, but don't do it for the track..

Changing the preload and changing the ride height really shouldn't be considered together - the correct preload setup is the correct one.

There are lowering links available for the TT600. If you slide the fork legs through the triple clamps the same amount as you lower the rear, the geometry won't suffer. The physics of the leverage ratios of the rear shock through its travel are too complicated for me, and I don't think you'd feel the change anyway.

What you will feel if you do trackdays is the grinding of pegs meeting the track because you moved them an inch closer together.

I'm 6'3", so I've never had to worry on that front (of course my legs don't fit in the tank cutouts of half the bikes made!)...

I am not going to mess with the preload settings etc, just considering the lowering link and triple tree idea, but after riding the bike tonight with the shaved seat that I got off fellow member Spin ( Thanks ) I was much more comfortable than with the original seat.

Well if you've never had clearance issues I'd say you've got nothing to lose. Worst case scenario would be you hate it on the track and go back to stock or spring for some aftermarket rearsets (LSL's are 1in up, 1in back and run ~$400).
