Hey, I'm sorry... I know I have seen this topic brought up before, but I couldn't find it while searching. I suck at the internets haha.

My issue is - My bike used to fire up nice and easy. Then a few weeks ago, if I didn't ride it for a couple days, it would be harder to start and once it did catch it would run really rough for a short while. Yesterday, I couldn't get it to start at all and I drained my battery trying. The starter always turns on all attempts. Yesterday it would just start to fire up, the needle would jump to about 2grand instantly and then it would die. That's as close as I got, all of that would happen in about 1.5 seconds. I left the bike for a few hours since the battery couldn't even turn the starter anymore, came back to pull the battery to charge it and thought what the hell, tried once more and it fired right up. When I turn the key, you hear the fuel pump kick in always too.

Any thoughts? Is my fuel pump going out on me? I know one of you has had this issue before, I remember reading it - so let me know! Thanks much.

Dave

are you touching the throttle at all? if you are like me, you always feel the need to crack it open right before you crank it over. this confuses the computer and you have a bear of a time getting it to start..

I am having similar problems with my wife's TT600 also (2002). I created a post to it, & there were some very informative replies. Mostly, water in the gas tank or bad gas. If that is a possibility that you could have gotten water in your tank, drain it, but be VERY careful in removing your tank, as the fuel petcocks will break very easy (my Daytona had this problem).

Good luck!

Well, my cords are coming out of my rear tire, so I haven't even tried it over the past almost week here. This sucks, this is the longest I've gone without riding since it finally warmed up here in MN haha.

I could try some new plugs, I have yet to dig that deep into it.

Nope - the throttle is 100% closed at all times during this.

It could be bad fuel, but I really do not think that is the issue. I've had similar situations with things of that nature and it doesn't seem to match this one.

I just have trouble getting it started, after that... I'm good to go.

Maybe I'll try and get it up and running tomorrow morning, although I'm pretty sure it will not start again. I feel like being a squid and ending the rear tire with a proper smoking death!

I appreciate the ideas though guys... anything I can try out as an idea, I will!
