I just picked up a 01 tt600 about 2 weeks ago and its been running great for the first week and ahalf but within the last few days its been dying when the temp is under 190 and im downshifting. Other than being under 190 I havn't really found a pattern. It will start right back up with out any problems and once its over 190 it doesn't give me a single problem. The guy before me had the MAP downloads checked(not sure of his name on this bored but he is Nate). What all should I check? Also sorry if this has been talked about before couldn't find anything in search.

What engine speed does this happen? My Speed Four used to do the same thing in cold weather if I downshifted below ~3k, such as when rolling to a stop. For whatever reason it didn't happen this winter, and I had the bike out in some pretty cold weather. Maybe it is the battery having a weak charge and then being fully charged by the time the bike warms up?

It happens at pretty much any speed. Tested it out more today and happens when ever I let go of the throttle and pull in the clutch. Makes me think its maybe the TPS but don't know why it stops once it gets above 190. And right now its in the 80s outside. But i'll check the battery altho think its new too.

Sounds like the symptoms of mike bike. Read my post, and tell me what you think. I'll let you know what the dealer determines, if they ever get it done.

I saw your post and it does sound pretty similar. only difference is yours starts after its warmed up all the way and mine does it when its not completly warmed up. Also mine starts pretty easy after it dies. Only takes a tap of the starter to get it going again.

Had the same problem with mine a long time back.
Stalling regular when I pulled in the clutch as I was coming to a halt

Mine turned out to be the IAC valve. I had oil coming from the oil breather into the airbox and then to the IACV.
Same problems can be had if the hoses that connect to the IACV aren't air tight.

My 2000 tt was doing the same thing. What octane fuel do u run? My bike dies like that if i run anything less than 93. I also ran some fuel injector cleaner through it and that totally eliminated the problem.

I thought of that last time I filled up, I put in mid grade instead of regular and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I will have to run some cleaner though it to then and see if that helps too.

I think mid grade (89 octane) is what's specified for our bikes...

My wife's 2002 TT600 did this same thing tonight for the first time... TWICE.
She said it happend while downshifting to slow down for a stop. She was able to restart it immediately. I have read about fuel octane issues on here. Has anyone found anything else that could cause this??
