Hi,
A nagging problem. When I push my rear brake, the brake light comes on. (of course) except when I let it go, the light stays on.
A very simple system with an adjustabe bolt sits right above the brake paddle. Here you can adjust the sensitivity of the system.
But, it keeps failing, I adjust it, it works for a while. Then it fails again. I'm getting pretty sick of it!
Anyone familiar with the problem?

So you end up with the brake light on all the time I take it?
I assume the adjuster has lock nut to keep the switching point where you set it? Other than that the switch could be a duffer and is sticking.

If you have adjusted the nut and it still stays on - it's sticking. Give it a good squirt with some WD40 and hope some gets to where its needed. Otherwise - new switch!

Well I have been tampering with it last evening and it seems that the adjuster bolt doesn't adjust when the "unit" is in. I took the whole unit out and I could adjust the thing.
After adjusting, refitting, adjusting, refitting a couple of times I got it right. But then when I bolted it up again. Displacing it mayby 0.02 mm my break light came on again.
grrr.
Anyway, it just too delicatie to set up it seems. Its not at all sophisticated and you can't even adjust it without having to strip your bike.
I got it to work of course, using 2 pliers which were very hard to use in that cramped up space (with the unit in, so it wouldn't displace again). Time will tell how long it will keep doing its on-off thing.
It looks like this a one off but still I think its poor quality.
Anyway, I stil love her.

hey, mine did the same exact thing, i ride in the rain all the time, so my whole bike gets gunked up sometimes, so it was a matter of taking it apart and cleaning it for me, which i wasn't gonna do everytime it rained, so the easiest solution i found, was just to take out the little spring that activates the light,
if you still wanted the light there, i would think you could take out the spring, and rewire it with a straight wire, that wouldn't stretch or anything, and leave it a little looser, so when you applied the brake enough, it would pull it, but when you let off the brake, it would defiantely let it back in, but either way, if there's cars behind me, and i'm gonna slow down, i use the front brake, and the light comes on, the only time i use the back brake by itself, is if i'm bored, and slowing down without my hands on the bars, or if i'm doing wheelies, and this way i can avoid that thing where everytime i stand it up, the brake light comes on cause my foot is touching the lever, so i'd say just take it off, but make sure you hold onto the spring, you'll need it for when you get the bike inspected
