Any replacement recommendations for my 675 OEM tires? Local dealer is pushing Dunlop Qualifiers and I'm considering Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. Any current experiences or opinions to share?

I'd definitely recommend 2-ct's. I run them on my 675 and TT600 track bike and really like them. The dealer at the track said 28 front and 31 rear and it works for me. I have gone through a few sets and will stick with them. pirellie tires are good when new in my experience but I'm wanting new tires faster and feeling less safe at lower speed. I also like the wear characteristics of Michelin, the pirellie liked to cup out and tear up even after trying multiple pressure set ups.

I have been very happy with Pilot Powers so far. I don't have 2CTs yet, although my current set of tires have a couple trackdays on them already and around 3K miles. They look fine and are sticking well on the street. One of the trackdays was wet, so they haven't been thrashed, and I expect to get one, maybe two more trackdays out of them. Judging from the depth of the tread, I would guess they are good for 10K miles on the street without track abuse.

I guess this would depends on how you ride. For my own tastes, I've been running Sportec m1's and m3's. The m3's will last a while and get decent grip but I only ride on teh street and mileage is as important as grip to me.

I appreciate the recommendations on replacement tires. With respect to my use, I have no plans for track days, but do a combination of highway and twisties. The current Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa PROs have worn well with roughly 4800 miles, but the ride is getting harsher with increasing wear.

So I guess the answer of a replacement tire lies in that mix of higher mileage and enough stickiness to balance my riding use. Thanks again for your comments.

The comments I have hear say Qualifiers wear quickly. I can't say from personal experience what they are like, and the comments about their wear came from a tire distributor at a trackday, so take it for what its worth.

I run the pilot powers on mine, all street use and I'm very happy with them. Riding buddies run the Diablos and have no complaints either

I put a set of pilot power 2ct's on my 675 1/2 way through a track day at Putnam Park. It took 1-1/2 laps for the temp. to come up and for me to get them scrubbed all the way to the edges and then I was very confident on them for the rest of the day.

I then went to Barber Motorsports Park and ran them really hard in the intermediate group for two days in hot conditions and they held up to the abuse really well. They are very sticky and warm up quickly.

Following that trip, I switched the bike back over to Street Plastics and went on a RAT Pack ride that was a combination of highway miles and back road twisties and I was impressed with them on the street as well. I haven't ridden with them in the rain yet, but my guess is that they will be superior to the stock tires in the wet.

If I was only going to do track days, I'd get Pilot Power Race Tires, but for double duty I think the 2ct's are great!
