Ok, I did do a search to see if anyone has posted this before and I didnt come up with much and there were tons of topics!!

I have a 02 TT600 and I just ordered my new windscreen and figured "what the hell" and bought the K&N oil filter so I can do my own oil change. I am going to Cycle Gear to buy the Mobil 4T 20-50. IS there anything else that I need to buy that is not obvious?? Another question...... do the fairings need to come off or can this all be done from the outside? Anything else I need to replace, like gasket or anything on the drain plug? Thanks everyone! :???:

You may want to replace the sump plug washer - it's only around 50p ($1). Other than that, straightforward, but the position of the oil filter could mean a bit of spillage over the exhausts and/or the fairings.

Simple job. Enjoy.

You probably won't have much luck getting Mobil 4T at cycle gear. They have a lot of good synthetic oils, though, most of which are cheaper than the 4T. I used Amsoil full synthetic 20w50 on my last oil change. I've also used Mobil 1 20w50 full synthetic oil for cars and sold a hand for the 4T - no difference in operating temperature or operation that I can tell.

It's definitely worth it to replace the crush washer - I ended up ordering 5 of them from my dealer so I wouldn't need to worry about having one. You don't have to replace it if you don't have a spare, but it would be something to remember for the next oil change

Sorry - I can't help with the fairings (don't have 'em, don't want 'em  )
