Denim = personal choice. Inappropriate footwear is another thing. I'm no-one to talk I've fractured my foot in three places on a drop at 10mph because I wasn't wearing appropriate footwear. I've held a guys foot together with his leg while an ambulance came cos he was wearing a good helmet, excellent jacket great gloves.. and then it went down hill below the waist.

Sometimes its a pain in the ass to have all the right gear but it beats a real pain in the ass.
It's all about personal choice and its a great pic too, it's just when I see that, it reminds me of how something so great suddenly goes so wrong. I've spent months recovering from the one time I didn't want\think it was neccessary to wear the right gear. But each to thier own

I'm wearing DC's now cos I keep a pair at work, but I ride in boots. :hammer:

I'd post the video clip of the guy whos foot got tore off completeley while riding a strip but I don't want to get slated for being the gore monger lol

vennom is now accepting donations in the form of Boots (size 13) or riding pants (size 34). Im a student and the money situation is pretty desprate right now. But I understand the need for proper gear.

Can't help with boot size or waist size donation, but I'll send you ten bucks if you start a safety gear fund and buy some good stuff when the fund grows. Remember: All the gear, all the time. Be safe! :hammer:

xavi,

I appreciate the offer, but I am not comfortable taking money from the members of this board. The advice and technical help I have recieved from the members is worth more than any cash donation I could recieve.

Thanks again for your generosity, but I will get there on my own and hopfully keep the shiny side up until I get the full complement of gear in my closet.

Thanks Rat members

Hey man - a pair of solid leather boots from work'n gear is a really good start - you can get those for ~$50. Alternatively, if you have hiking boots, work boots, doc martins, or anythig else that's fairly burly and covers your ankle those are a log better than sneakers. When I was in school, gear was one of the few things I considered it worthwhile to carry a balance on a credit card for.

Too bad I wear a 10.5 - I have a pair of boots I'm interested in getting out of my closet

Keep ridin

Yeah I picked up a pair of Doc Martins Motorcycle boats and wear them daily. Great boots.
