Anyone tried mounting the clipons under the triple clamp? I was on the freeway and the wind was terrible unless I really got down low. Thinking lower clipons could possibly make that easier or more comfortable.

You wouldn't be able to do it with the stock clipons.

I believe you can do it with R6 clipons.

I have ordered LSL clip ons. I'll let you know if I don't sell the bike first

Will, do you know what years or are they all the same? Also, can it be done without removing the forks. I think we all figured out I'm not much of a mechanic, so how might I go about doing this?

Early R6 clip ons before they put upside down forks on them. I never did the swap, but I assume you would have to drop the fork legs below the upper triple clamp at the least. Woodcraft are made to go on without removing fork legs, and I know they make clipons for the right size fork tube.

Any idea what the fork tube size is?

How do you move the controls from OEM to woodcrafts too? Oh, and will I need to do some fancy stuff with the brake reservoir and things like that?

think if you go lower you'll be putting alot more pressure on you wrists, especially if you're doing plenty of freeway riding.
if wind is your nag maybe try increasing your top hat, mine made a really big difference to wind in every position, I dont need to lay on the tank to get any less wind resistance than a normal tuck.
Obviously when it comes to wind the TT is the better choice to the S4, but an added screen is a nice between

If you are scratching instead of slabbing, low clipons is the way to go. I don't remember what size the tube is, but if you go to Woodcraft's Website you can see what they have. I believe you need a 45mm set. Check to make sure. You just unbolt the controls and bolt them onto the new or relocated clipons. I doubt you will have any fancy work to do with your reservoir, but I am not sure about that either.

Thanks Will. I don't do freeway often, but I certainly run the corners a lot, so the lower clipons should be good all around.
