Is gas supposed to pour out of the fuel connectors when you take the tank off? How can I fix this? It looks like they are plastic.

The female connectors are plastic, the males should be aluminium. Some fuel should come out as the seal isn't 100% tight. However, it shouldn't pour out. Sometimes the spring vavle gets hung up and will allow fuel to escape from the female side so just watch for that.

The dealer will replace the plastic elbow fittings for free, there was a recall.

Also make sure your connectors go to the right place. If they are aluminum, it should be mixed, red-white and white-red.

If the connectors haven't been replaced and are stock they are all plastic. The aluminum parts are fixes for the plastic ones that tend to break and not all people have made the switch. I recommend switching them if you plan on wrenching yourself from now on. There is some drainage if you haven't emptied the tank as per the instructions in the service manual.

OK, the male connectors are aluminum. So the silver goes with RED female and the red goes with WHITE female?

Apparently so. I never noticed when I pulled the tank off either TT600, since I always did it by feel anyway.
