Just another friendly reminder to be careful with those plastic fuel fittings under the tank! No matter how careful I have been with trying not to break them over the years I finally managed to break the white one last week.

Although there was a recall on this issue in 2004, my dealer charged me $10 for the new metal fittings since I walked in to get them. I suppose if I'd taken the bike in they would have covered them, but who wants to be without a bike for a week when it's a ten minute job yourself?

I'd suggest that everyone who wrenches get these ASAP. Funny thing is that the original white one is now red and the red one is silver. If anyone wants the part numbers let me know.

I switched to aluminum both the male and female ends. Took the sending unit out of the tank and shipped it to the dealer. I was charged $50. Worth every penny.

I walked into the dealer and they offered to put them on. Good security to have these.
