i have a daytona 600 and ive noticed that it runs quite roughly between 3-4000 rpm. trying to go along at 30mph in 4th or 5th gear and it is not smooth at all! and on the overrun it sounds awfull and not smooth like a 4 cylinder bike should.. in town its a asbsolute nightmare as it jerks all over the place at low rpm.

ive read on some of the posts that others have had similar problems. anyone had the new triumph download and has this cured the problem?.

Sounds like your problem is worse then i had. Couple things you can do. Wait for Triumph to find a new code. Buy a powercommander with a custom map (which i did) or drive in a different RPM range. Drop it down a gear when running around town. 4TH OR 5TH gear at 30miles an hour would seem to be lugging the engine. What about 5000 to 6000 RPM. Do you have a flat spot? I did and the PC took care of it plus took care of most of the surging between 3000 and 4000 RPM.

My question is:why would you ride at 3000to4000 rpm my daytona 600 rarely sees anything under 6000.Mine had the same problem when new but had the tech at Augusta Triumph work a little of his finess to it and the problem was solved. It now has 4000m and getting better everyday.Triumph is currently working on a new tune and the Power commander only has tunes 001b (stock filter/stock pipe)002(stock filter/micron pipe) both tunes are to lean at the low/mid rpm,we found no improvement over stock with the power commander on the dyno.
My suggestion would be to keep up the rpms and wait for the Triumph tune, and miles will improve some of the roughness.

Have fun and for a lifetime.

On the Dyno using the base map that came with the PCIII. There was a 2HP gain. The mechanic who was schooled on the Dyno Jet and power commander maded his own custom map. Which added 2 more HP. for a total of 4. This was with a stock pipe and air filter. The big changed was on and off throtle response. and got rid of that huge flat spot around 5000 to 6000 RPM. I have the map on a floppy if anyone needs it.
