so i hear the 02 intake cam and 00 exhaust cam is the way to go. but its a PIA to find them. are there any companies around that make performance cams? also software for the cams. or am i getting into more than im asking for?

They used to be halfway available on ebay, but maybe not so much any more. By software, do you mean maps? If you are going as far as swapping out cams, you might as well go with a TuneBoy setup and map it out on a dyno to take full advantage of the cam profiles. It isn't any different from mapping a bike with the original cams or degreeing your cams.

Is the setup really worth the trouble? i mean, do the advantages really outway the pain in the arse of ripping out the cams, and fitting the new ones? and i heard that the cams in the '01 exhausts were better tuned for the bike than the '00 anyways. anybody done the '02 intake with a mixed exhaust?

I blew the motor in my 00 TT, bought a new one off ebay, it was an 02, so I took the logical step after hearing the cam deal.

I never got th assy retuned to current specs, I should, just never did.

It pulls pretty good, but I have an inane fear of frying it because of that last motor.

spun a bearing. Started as a tick, developed into a steady knock.

Cost less in the long run to find a motor than to rebuild the one I had.
