Hello, I have a 2003 speed four that looks like it is leaking oil around the countershaft seal has any one else had this? Is it difficult to replace the seal?

Thanks,

Jeff

I don't have a camera but I had a chance to look at it better today and looks more like it is leaking from the round the thing just below and in front of the sprocket I tried to look up the part on the bike bandits put can't find it do you know what it is? I have to get a socket big enough to take the sprocket off to check the seal but it seems like if it were the seal oil would be slung all over the cover and it is just on the bottom.

mine was on the other side of this bike, that little O-ring has kept me from my bike for two days of great riding weather and an additional two weeks of it in the shop...but worth it.

Did anyone ever figure out if the cases need to be split to replace this?

The service manual is typically vague, in fact the only place I can even find it referenced is in an exploded view.

The picture on this thread however looks like it might be possible to get it out, while probably destroying the old one, but I'm not sure about putting in the new one.

Thanks,
Zane
