...and was kind of disapointed. From 1000-4000 RPM it was VERY WEAK. Granted the bike had < 1 mile, and I did not rev it beyond 5K. But my Speed 4 has much more power, and is smoother in the lower rev's then the Daytona. I'm wondering if this is what other people are noticing? Any owners out there? Are the engines getting better as the miles add up?

I've got a Dayonta 600 and have put about 350 miles on it so far. I found when I compared one back to back with an R6, the Daytona felt down on power, but again, this one only had about 50 miles on it and couldn't therefore be ridden as hard as the R6.

Mine now feels better/stronger than it did but I won't know for sure how it compares until it has bedded in fully.

I've been told that Triumphs should be run in strictly, unlike many other manufacturers which have a less restrictive running-in period. E.g. Honda who say don't red-line for the first 300 miles and then cane it - or something thereabouts... :-D

I'm in the UK by the way! I'm not sure if US versions have the same spec engines etc.

I agree on the Triumph break-in procedure. I have now 2000 miles and can sure feel the difference. Seems to have loosed up allot.. Will let everyone know in a couple days what the Dyno has to say about HP. But the seat of pants feeling tells me about the same HP as my old 2002 Honda F4i .But the handling is twice as good. Thats one of the biggest reason's I bought the Daytona. HANDLING. Anyone noticed a surging at around 4000 RPM. Seems to be intermitant. But no big deal.. Just wick it up to 5000RPM. To answer triumph 900. I don't really know of any 600s that has any balls below 4000 RPMS. with a red line of 14000 +. I think around 6000 is when everything starts to happen on 600's.
