Ok, this might sound stupid but how do I remove the spark plugs on this bike?

I can see where the wires all go in but can't figure out how to access these things.

Is there some locking device holding these on?
I have the factory service manual but that doesn't really tell you anything at all and neither does the owner's manual and the idea of bringing in my bike for new spark plugs to the dealer is loco.

would appreciate some help. thanks.

1. Remove fuel tank. Be careful when releasing the fuel fittings from the bottom of the tank - they break easily. You will also need to release a wire harness from the underside of the tank.

2. Remove the airbox - should only involve releasing a rubber strap that holds the airbox in place. Remove hoses and wire harness from the posterior end of the air box. Airbox should lift right off of the throttle bodies.

3. Should be able to access the coils from here. Just pull each one up. The sparkplugs are fairly deep, and you'll probably need a couple different lengths of extensions to get to them.

Also, if you don't have a spark plug socket the right size, you might have to use a claw tool to get the plugs out of the deep hole that they live in.

there's a tool for it in your tool kit, that round one, and you stick the giant hex key in the other end for leverage, and yeah, those coils jus tpull straight up

thanks for the help. It turns out that there are bolts holding them on from the bottom. :???:
If only my manual could have mentioned this.

Bolts holding what on? The coils more or less snap onto the spark plugs. The spark plugs screw into the engine head. What else is bolted down?
