2001 Triumph TT600

The Alternator cover was cracked during a crash of the bike i bought. Well i noticed oil came out of the crack when i got home, didnt know it was the alternator cover then. Well i pulled off the cover and i could smell gas in the oil. Now the question is, should oil come out that area? The gas mixed with the oil can be taken care of with a oil flush but im worried because i didnt think oil should come from that area.

Yes, there is oil behind the stator cover. I broke two of them in crashes on a TT600, and oil came out both times.
