because of the ermax undertray i got for my '03 sp4, i have no place to put the canister. i had to drill holes in the undertray, behind the lic plate, and zip tie the thing. needless to say, it doesn't look as clean as it would without it. american sp4's come with it, euro versions don't. my question is how do i plug or what do i do with the 3 hoses that plug into the evaporation canister?

I have imported 2 CA S4's with this piece of bureaucratic junk. I am assuming you want to remove it, yes?? There are 3 hoses as you say. One goes to the fuel tank, make a "Y" piece and run it out with the other fuel tank breather. One goes to the IAC valve - just plug the hole (or as I did, replace it with a straight connector rather than a "T" connector. The last one goes to a vacuum fitting under the injector rail - again plug it or replace "T" with a straight connector. Finally unplug the electrical fitting to the purge valve (grey colour) and just let it lay on the engine (like non CA models). Taking off this junk seems to make no difference to the running of the bike but tidies up the under-tank spaghetti.

I elect someone to do a writeup with pics on this procedure. Do all us bikes have the evap, or just the ca ones?

Just the CA ones. The rest of us don't know much about those canisters and all the rest of that stuff.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.
