Does anyone know what fuel is left when the light comes on? What kind of mileage can you expect from this point?

You have something less than a gallon available when the light goes on. So, you could make it twenty miles but don't count on going much more than that before it is completely dry. When the light comes on, your best off to start looking for a gasoline station right away.

I agree with Will about 20 miles perhaps a little more at a push.
If the light comes on just fill up ASAP.
