So I stopped in the dealer to check on my bike this weekend and got to sit on a Speed Triple. I gotta say I love the style of this bike, the short tail especially. So my question is, would it be possible to put a shorter tail section like the S3 on a Speed Four?

This winter I'll bring the S4 to the mechanics to do a work like this.

He is able to do the same on other bikes (check the www.rmracing.it, he is my mechanic), it depends on the costs.
He can put the S3 short tail as the new R6 short tail.
The problem could be do the same of the picture, because you should mould the plastic parts or find a good fiberglass maker.

Let pass the winter and you will see.

with the new can the tail looks shorter isn't it?

I am actually trying to do the same thing. I was going to try to get an s3 tail...but I think I'm going to custom make my own side pieces. Just need to figure out what taillight to use. I'll have pics once I get off my arse and do it.

I've been thinking about a short tail too. If I get bored enough in the winter I might actually do something about it.

What I have in mind in a self-made short rear frame and a glassfibre rear with a solo seat, sort of in the original shape, but ending approximately where the grab rail hole plugs end. I'd use the standard tail light.

That'd give a good excuse to spray the bike in BRG, too :-D
