Cheers folks, The guy I bought my 2002 TT600 from was recommended "spectro golden 10w 40" oil for it. I have seen the receipt. Yet the same outfit just done an oil change for me and supplied Sylkolene comp4 15/50. I have never heard of either of these products. Can someone tell me what I should use. Could be what is causing the bike to smoke intermttently

I seriously doubt it's the oil that's causing the bike to smoke.

I use semi synthetic Motorex 15W50 in mine. Works well, the valves are quieter and gears engage better than with the Motul 15W50 they put in it at the dealer.

Triumph recommend 15W50 oil, so I think it's the best bet. But any oil that fulfills the requirements (API, JASO etc) will work.

Thanks for that Pete. I agree, clutching at straws with the oil. But its try anything at this stage, 150 miles to the nearest Triumph agent. I was sure it would be oil in the airbox going by the posts on the subject. Never mind it will sort itself out, perseverance furthers
