Sorry to sound so weird in the title. There's probably three of us that know what I'm talking about. For the new... my bike since day one has made a chattering sound when braking with the front. The sound is very much like a playing card in the spokes of a bike. It's speed sensitive and as you slow down so does the sound... to the point where at 0-2 mph its going click...pause....click... al the way to stop.

Looking through the rotors, calipers and wheel nothing is contacting - ***!?

Others have been told that this is normal, but if it's normal - should all bikes make that sound?

I'm taking her in for the first maintenance next week so any ideas - along with the 5k buzz-would be appreciated.

Peet

Sometimes the brake pads will make that noise going over the holes drilled in the rotors. I don't know why some bikes do it and others don't.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Yea.. I like to make a list of things i need to discuss in advance. nothing worse then dropping your bike off and forgetting to mention something.

Most dealerships are more then happy to make sure everything is working right. Every motorcycle mechanic i've met takes his job very very serious. Lives depend on it.

Now... My BMW makes that sound... Some times it's louder then others... Personally i think it's kinda cool.

i love that noise,

it'll probably go away, i don't know if mine did it or not when i got it, but when i chagned the brake pads it started doing it, and eventually got quieter, it has it's days when i can hear it, but i usually dont' notice it anymore, either way, i'ts nothing to worry about, it's just cause of the holes drilled in disc,
