Anyone out there fitted an undertray?
I'm trying to work out a couple of things
1) Best way to mount the number plate/any plate hanger recommendations.
2) Whether to integrate the indicators by using flush units on the undertray (not how visible they will be) or going the standard method either side of the number plate.

LOWEY are you still knocking about the site - IIRC you had an undertray on your bike?

Any opinions guys?

Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Lowey I seem to recall had a small plate as he was worried abot getting pulled on the Matlock meet, as for indicators I think he had mini's :???:

Yeah he had a small plate but I didn't notice what he used to hang it on.
The indicators were those integrated tail light jobs but I wasn't so keen on those.

Yes Rik mate I'm still here!! :-D

I used a Motrax RSEND universal numberplate bracket, cost £14.99 most bike shops.

And as you remember I have that rear tail light with indicators built in and I'm not overly keen on it myself, so if you go the route of fitting flush mounted indicators let me know.

I have thought about them myself and remember a yellow S4 on this site that had them fitted, and they looked the part.
I'm actually keeping my S4 now as i cant afford to replace it, so I would be interested on your opinion if you fit the flush mounted indicators.
By the way with the RSEND bracket I left the indicator brackets that come with it off mine because of my tail light but if you decide to go the conventional route and fit mini indicators they are there for you to attach them to, but how tidy any wiring would look may be a concern :???:
I think the flush mounted one's would give a better, cleaner look IMHO!

The SkyKing kit is great if I'm doing a tail chop, but doesn't work for my undertray

LOWEY - Hello good to have you back!
With the rsend, did you just drill two holes in the lip and bolt it up? Need any bracing on the inside of the tray to spread the load or just a couple of washers?

Totally agree with your comments about indicators:

The integrated tail light & indicator look is sooooooooo clean, but just wasn't bright enough for me in daylight.

Flush mounted ones would certainly look neat but as the lense is pretty much pointed to the ground, again I'm not too sure about visibility & might be a problem come MOT time

Conventional mini indicators are certainly the easiest route and I'd probably cover over the wiring with some duck tape, but I think I'll lose some of the effect of having the undertray in the first place.[/list]
:???: :???:

Just found the thread with the Yellow Speed Four you mentioned

Yellow Speed Four with undertray and flush indicators

Trouble is the guy that did the mod no longer posts here. Also, If I decide I don't like it, it's too late once I've cut the holes out ! :hammer: uke:

yes Rik, just drilled two holes in the lip and bolted the bracket to it. I did use a couple of washers to help support it, and its really sturdy

Mine is due its first MOT at the end of October, but have had a word with a mate and he is going to kindly overlook my integrated tail light when he takes a look at it, I am under the impression that the indicators must be a certain distance apart from the centre of the bike to be totally legal :???:

The integrated tail light I have is great for a clean look, which is what I wanted. But I have not so much got a problem with the indicators as the brake light is a very small section of the light and as you suggest its very difficult in daylight for people to distinguish when your braking

By the way I remember you previously did not fit the undertray as you would not be able to secure luggage, how are you gonna overcome this :???:

d4mn good memory Lowey!

I have the Triumph throwovers and the panel protectors clip to the passenger footpeg and indicator mounting point. With the undertray I was concerned about losing the indicator securing point but think I have found a simple mod by hooking together the panel protector indicator points underneath the seat so now I'm ready to start chopping
