So when my bike gets to normal operating temps and i decelerate and pull the cluth in the bike dies on me. It has been happening for about 6 months off and on, but now it's a constant. I would like to think it's simple, but I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated; it's my daily driver now and this has me worried.

Does it only happen when at idle & in gear?

Strange, I had this happen to me a few times pulling into a stop. The bike was new and was probably still under 1.5k miles. It hasn't happened since and I have forgotten about it until now. Are you running on the highest octane fuel? Are you running on low octane fuel after running on the high octane?

Think man! What, if anything, have you been doing differently since this started?

I used to have a big stalling problem. This is an extract from my post a couple of years ago - is your problem similar?
Quote:
"My standard '03 S4 (3100 miles) has been doing this for some months. Dealer has had it back 4 times. Initially the stalling was fairly intermittent, say once a week (50-100 miles/week) so it was hard for the dealer to replicate the problem and all they could really do was fiddle around checking the CO, reloading the tune, balancing the throttle butterflies etc., Eventually got so bad that it was dying up to 3 times on just a 15 mile trip! At its worst when I've been filtering a while, giving up the ghost as I pulled up at junctions. Engine temp didn't seem to have anything to do with it as it has happened at anywhere between 78 & 98 degs C (about 170 to 210 in degs F). At least this meant when the dealer took it back they experienced it too. Unfortunately they couldn't find what was wrong but changed the IAC valve and temp gauge. No stalling for a month (felt like it was going to a couple of times though) in which I covered 600 miles but finally did it again this week = Not best pleased.

Dealer eventually traced my problem to oil getting in the IAC valve and fouling it which caused the stalling. Similar thing might happend if there is an air leak there as well.

IAC = idle air control valve ... that would make sense as a possibility.

I guess I should've said after it warms and stalls, once i get going again and I keep the throttle at a constant (no accelleration) it will start missing really badly. If I accelerate then all is well, it feels like the bike of old. Same thing with me, Rik. The dealer could not replicate it when it was happening. And no, I always use the same octane fuel (super unleaded) Lance, so you see why I'm baffled. This is just starting to suck. Perfect day and I'm too scared of getting stranded to go riding.

oops - just noticed you have a Daytona 650, I thought you had a TT600/Speed Four

On your bike the equivalent part to the one I'm thinking of is called an ISC (Idle Speed Control) actuator but as your whole FI system is different to mine I'd ignore my comment

Best thing I can do is point you the way of a 12MB Service Manual for the Daytona 600 version - sorry

do you have an aftermarket can or K&N filter? these mods alone can cause this problem, my bike used to stall after coming to a stop on the off ramp, sometimes it would rev and dip, rev and dip, rev and dip until i twitched the throttle. i had the '02 tune in it and the dealer threw in the latest and greatest and the problem was gone, i am running a D&D can with stock filter...

how much it cost u to have the dealer put in the latest map. I'm running D&D + stock filter too. The stalling is really bothering me.
