Every nigh I cover my bike because its outside and I cant avoid the sprinklers. i have noticed on the pixe hat and on the tail that the paint has gotten very dull. I know its ok if te bike gets wet but is a lot of water bad for it? Also is there anything I can do to bring the paint back to glossy?
thanks

hmm, i covered mine every night for years (s4 and prev bikes) no probs. -just recently got garage use with a fellow neighbour.

getting it wet certainly won't/shouldn't dull the paint! or all british bikers would have matt colour bikes!!!

whats the cover made out of? is it a proper bike cover?

is the paint just dull, or scratched?

if its just dull a wash and wax, followed by a t-cut usually brings the paint work up nicely.

failing that, find out what they're putting in the sprinklers!!!!

it has nothing to do with the sprinklers because like I said the bike was coverred every nite so it would never get wet. I paid about 30-40 bucks for the cover so it is on the cheap side. And if you think about where on the bike the dullness is......it is where the cover is tightest (front and back) throw a lil wind in there and get some rubbing. I think its made out of nylon or something like that.

i would hazard a guess that the cover is doing it.

i have a oxford cover and its pretty good. fits the s4 well, no tight spots or knocking the mirrors out. nice fluffy interior, no scratches, reasonably water proof. also heat resistant, so can chuck it over hot pipes.
