Greetings gents,
I am looking to change the air filter on my 2000 TT600 and all I can find online are the K&N high performance types. Can anyone offer a source for standard OEM filters...or if I change to the K&N will I have to re-map? I would assume that an after market can with a K&N air filter would required a custom map but perhaps one of you can educate and enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Dan

You don't really have to remap for a K&N, but you will have to make adjustments in the fuel idle trim (CO) to keep from running too lean at small throttle openings. You will not see any performace gains from a K&N. Why can't you get the filter from a dealer?

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Will,
Thanks for the fast response. The dealer I spoke to recently only stocked the K&N variety for some reason, probably because there is more margin. I do realize that I will not see any performance increase, that is actually why I'd rather go with a plain stock oem paper filter. Thanks again for the feedback....
