Hi, ok, I know this topic has been posted in the past, I remember seeing it about a year ago, but I can't seem to find it...
Time to buy tires... I'm @ almost 12000 KM, is that somewhat normal for the stock tires to be nearing the wear bar? I still have the stock balleaxe tires on there...
And upgrade suggestions? Should I stick to the Battleaxe? I have little to compare to as my speed four is my first street bike and I've loved her for the past year and a half... Never rode anything but dirk bike prior...
Any and all suggestions are appreciated...
I am also interested in sizing, do I stick with the stock size?
Front: 120/70 ZR 17
Rear: 180/55 ZR 17
Thanks all in advance!

Hi ,
I hated the stock BT010,s they only lasted about 4 k miles on my TT600 and squared off too quickly .
I,ve had BT020,s fitted and i,ve been told these are sports tourers and should last longer . they take a little while to warm up but i feel confident on them .
I was told on here that Pirelli Diablo Strada,s are good .
as for sizing i always stick to the stock sizes anything else and your asking for trouble .

I have the Continental Road Attacks on my S4 right now. I like them alot, much better than the BT010's. Smoother rolling, quieter, quicker turn in, less standing up in braking. Overall a better tire. There is a package deal at Tireexpress.com for $200 for both. Stick with stock sizes. 120F 180R.

Several of my friends on Triumphs recommend Dunlop Qualifiers as a good mileage all around tire. They were voted Best New Product of 06 by Motorcyclist Mag, Sept 06 and voted number-one in the Dec 05 tire test by Sport Rider mag.

I will be trying them in a couple months. The Corsas I have on my bike have plenty of tread left, but they have been subjected to a couple of trackdays, and I don't really want them going off on me. NESBA has a pretty good deal for tires at the track, so I plan to go that route.

I've been looking a bit, it sucks 'cause it's always quite cheaper in the states it seems... Decision decisions...
Thanks for the input, keep it comin'!

I just had to replace the stock Bridgestones due to a puncture. Knowing nothing about bike tyres, I asked a mate for his recommendation (he's been riding a 600 Fazer for years).
He suggested Metzeler Roadtec's as a good long-lasting road tyre with decent enough grip. Apparently he's had between around 8-9,000 miles (12-14,500 km) out of the rear and up to 11,000 miles (18,000km)out of the front. Previously he'd used Dunlops of some description, which had lasted only about half as long.
