Can anyone tell me if my tt600 is normal? Mine makes a lot of engine noise, a rattle that is bad around 5 to 7 K rpm's. It really sounds like something is loose.

Also, I washed my bike yesterday and the engine light came on. Is there anyway to reset the light or does it do it by itself? I am assuming a connection got wet and caused it to come on. Thanks guys and gals.

Two questions, so two answers-

Your engine makes a lot of mechanical noise. The tapping is probably the fuel injectors. Triumph engines make all kinds of little mechanical noises. It is just talking to you!

The check engine light will go back off after three heat cycles as long as there is no real problem. It shouldn't go on after washing the bike, unless you used a pressure washer and really blasted something.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Thanks Will. That really makes me feel a lot better. When I washed the bike, I removed the tank and airbox. Some yahoo overfilled the oil on my bike and it overflowed all over the engine below the airbox. I sprayed cleaner on it and washed it. Of course I capped off the throttle body, etc. While cleaning, I noticed that the alternator / stator wires were fried! I have read that this was a recall for this bike. I fixed the plug by rewiring around the connection. Is there anything else I should do about the alternator wires? What caused this?

Thanks, Davy.
