Would anyone mind giving me some fairly detailed instructions on the best way to hardwire my GPS to my TT600? I already have it mounted with a RAM mount on the clutch lever bracket, but I'm a little hesitant to begin wiring an expensive GPS without some advice from those much wiser than I. Below is an image of my hard wire kit.

With what is shown in the pic, what you would do is as follows:

1 - hook up one wire from the waterproof fuse holder to your possitive side of the battery

2- connect up the other wire on the fuse holder to one of the wires on the charger (check to see if there is a specific wire for positive on the charger)

3 - connect other wire on the charger to the negative side of the battery

4 - plug in fuse to fuse holder

5 - plug in GPS and make sure it is charging

Please note that the there is constantly be power available to the charger this way, so if you leave the GPS pluged into the charger and turned on it will drain your battery over time.
If you add in a relay to this setup you can then have it so that the charger only gets power when the bike is turned on

what kind of relay do you suggest to do this? one that takes the place of a fuse in the fuse box? i can't seem to find anything at an auto parts store that would fit the bill.

I don't know for sure, but this is a semi-educated guess. You would look for a normally open relay that needs power to close. You would wire that relay into any circuit that turns on when you turn on the bike (ie. not an alarm circuit or something). Then you would use that relay as a switch that turns the GPS charger circuit on and off. The relay would have to be 12 volt operated on the actuating side and whatever voltage the GPS uses, presumably also 12 volts, on that side. The relay would be wired into the GPS circuit anywhere a series connetion is convenient to make.

I had used a standard automotive relay when i did mine, and taped into my tail light for constant power when the bike was turned on
