First of all I would like to thank all that post here. When deciding what Triumph to buy all the input/advice given here really helped!

I purchased an '03 Speed Four. I now have 470 miles on it. I took it out for a ride today and noticed that the speedometer was not working. The display works, but it just reads "0 mph." Also the odometer/trip stopped clocking milage.....just stayed at 470.

Has this happen to anyone else?

I have seen a thread about this I think it concerned the pick-up at the wheel end.

Try a search here or on Speed Four forum

or on TT600.org

i had this happen on mine, the speedo cable got pinched and rubbed off a bit. i took it to the dealer who immediately called triumph to make them aware of the situation, they told me to sodder it, (which seems to be holding) otheriwse theyll be buying me a new speedo if the problem persists.

look (facing the front of the bike) on the right side where the cable enters underneath the tank and check to see any pinching (i never noticed it, so i cant tell you exactly what to look for)

hope this helps!

This happened to mine as well. Originally they thought it was the speed sensor but as it turned out, something had corroded from water getting inside of it. Don't ask me...I've forgotten what it was. At any rate, it was under warranty.

I'm sure it's just something small.
