I passed a radar sign today that I was going 49 mph and the bike read 55. I have been on the highway crusing at 90 and keeping with traffic. I feel like it may be off by about 15%. what have you all observed?

100 km/h on the speedo equals 93 km/h in reality, at least on my bike.

However, as I had the bike dynoed, the top speed at the limiter was 249.5 km/h, as it's supposed to be 250. I changed the gearing and calculated the top speed to be 236 km/h. When I tested it, I found the limiter to be at 238 km/h according to the speedo.

So at the top end it seems pretty accurate

There was a Q&A about this is Cycle Canada. The guy had a GPS and found that his speedo was off by around 10%. HE tried to get the company (suzuki) to fix the problem but they did not. So, he wrote in to the mag. The editor of the mag told them that most speedos are off by 10%.
